I wanted to provide a tutorial on how to make a frittata for those of you that are Frittata Newbies!
I make Frittatas ALL THE TIME because they are So easy to make and the ingredient possibilities are ENDLESS! You can literally make your own combo with anything that is leftover in your fridge!
This meal is the PERFECT thing to make on a Sunday before you go grocery shopping as a way to clean out your fridge! Just grab that leftover Chicken Sausage, Ground Turkey, Peppers, Spinach, Tomatoes etc ...whatever you want and a dozen eggs and honey, you have the makings of a beautiful breakfast!
Now lets get started!!
The process is key, the ingredients are literally whatever you have left over in your fridge
What you need:
Splash of milk ( Almond, Coconut or full fat if you are not dairy-free)
Leftover meats and veggies
With a large pan on medium to medium high heat, heat up one heaping tablespoon of coconut oil.
Add your leftover meat and veggies to the pan. If I have frozen kale or spinach in the freezer I will also pile that in the pan as well.
While the meats and veggies are cooking mix the eggs and milk in a separate bowl and whisk until completely blended
When the veggies and meats are completely cooked spread them evenly throughout the bottom of the pan.
Slowly add the egg mixture to the pan and place on medium heat.
After a minute or two take a spatula and slowly fold the outer edges of the eggs towards the center. That will allow the eggs to be cooked evenly.
Once the bottom of the eggs are cooked that is when you place them in the oven on broil
Please make sure you have the rack on the top. That will allow the top layer of the frittata to cook and Brown
You will want to monitor closely but it should only take about five minutes before the top gets golden brown.
Once the top is golden brown take it out of the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing into the Frittata
Now here is the best part! Depending on the ingredients in the pan I will top my frittata with salsa or marinara and of course if I have an avocado I will slice it up and serve it with this dish.
This is an easy meal to make on a Sunday that will give you breakfast throughout the entire week and so easy to make!
